To assemble the KitchenAid KFP0718BM, first place the work bowl on the base, aligning the handle with the unlock symbol. Turn the bowl counterclockwise until it locks. Then, insert the desired blade or disc onto the drive pin and cover with the lid, ensuring the lid tab locks into the handle.
Ensure the work bowl and lid are properly locked into place. Also, check if the appliance is plugged into a working outlet. If it still doesn't start, inspect the power cord for damage and reset the circuit breaker if necessary.
Disassemble the processor by removing the lid, blades, and bowl. Wash these parts in warm, soapy water or place them on the top rack of a dishwasher. Wipe the base with a damp cloth, but do not submerge it in water.
To chop vegetables, first cut them into evenly sized pieces. Use the chopping blade, place the vegetables in the work bowl, and pulse until you reach the desired consistency. Avoid overprocessing to prevent mushiness.
When processing thick mixtures, occasionally stop the processor to scrape down the sides of the bowl with a spatula. This ensures even processing and reduces food buildup on the sides.
It is not recommended to process hot ingredients as the heat can damage the bowl and lid. Allow the ingredients to cool to room temperature before processing.
Turn off and unplug the food processor. Remove the bowl from the base, then carefully remove the blade. Check for any food pieces blocking the blade and clean if necessary. Reassemble and try again.
The blades should remain sharp for a long time with regular use. If you notice a decline in performance, consider sharpening or replacing them. Replacement frequency depends on usage intensity, but generally every few years.
Excessive vibration can occur if the appliance is on an uneven surface or if the load is too heavy. Ensure the processor is on a flat, stable surface and process in batches if necessary.
Check that the bowl and lid are properly assembled and locked. Ensure the seal is intact and clean. If the problem persists, inspect the bowl for cracks and consider replacing it.
