To adjust the cutting height on the John Deere W36R, locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel. Move the levers to your desired height setting. Make sure all four wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
If the mower is not starting, check the fuel level and ensure the fuel valve is open. Verify the spark plug is clean and properly connected. Also, ensure the safety features, such as the operator presence control, are engaged.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 25 hours of operation or at least once a season. Always refer to the owner’s manual for the correct oil type and capacity.
To clean the deck, use a hose to rinse off grass clippings and debris. For thorough cleaning, remove the spark plug wire to ensure safety, tip the mower on its side, and gently scrape off any stuck debris with a plastic scraper.
To troubleshoot uneven cutting, check if the tire pressure is equal on all wheels and adjust if necessary. Ensure that the blades are sharp and properly balanced. Also, check the deck height settings to confirm they are even on both sides.
Always wear appropriate safety gear such as gloves and safety glasses. Keep bystanders at a safe distance. Ensure all safety guards and mechanisms are in place before operation. Avoid mowing on wet grass to prevent slipping.
To replace the blades, first disconnect the spark plug wire. Tilt the mower to access the blade. Use a wrench to remove the blade bolt, and then replace the blade. Be sure to tighten the bolt securely and reconnect the spark plug wire.
Excessive vibration can be caused by a bent blade or loose parts. Inspect the blade for damage and ensure it is balanced. Check for loose bolts and tighten them as needed. If the issue persists, consult a professional technician.
To winterize the mower, clean the deck and remove any grass clippings. Change the oil and drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer. Store the mower in a dry, protected area. Disconnect the battery if applicable.
Perform regular maintenance including checking and changing the oil every 25 hours, cleaning or replacing the air filter every 25 hours, sharpening the blades as needed, and inspecting the belts and cables regularly for wear or damage.
