For optimal performance, it is recommended to sharpen the blades after every 25 hours of use or at the start of each mowing season.
Check for uneven tire pressure, worn blades, or obstructions in the cutter deck. Ensure the deck is level and adjust as necessary.
Clean the cutter thoroughly, sharpen the blades, change the oil, and lubricate all moving parts. Store in a dry place to prevent rust.
Use John Deere GL-5 Gear Lubricant or an equivalent SAE 80W-90 oil for the gearbox.
Ensure the cutter is off and on a level surface. Use a wrench to remove the blade bolts, replace with new blades, and tighten securely.
Check for proper connection and alignment of the shaft, inspect for debris, and ensure that the PTO switch is functioning properly.
Check the tire pressure before each use to ensure even cutting and to prevent undue wear on the machine.
Always wear appropriate safety gear, keep bystanders away, and never operate the cutter on steep slopes or rough terrain.
Use the deck leveling tool to adjust the deck height evenly from side to side and front to back, ensuring it is parallel to the ground.
The blade bolts should be tightened to a torque of 75-100 ft-lbs to ensure they are secure and safe for operation.
