The John Deere RSX860i Gator is designed to run on regular unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher.
It is recommended to change the oil and oil filter every 50 hours of operation or at least once per year, whichever comes first.
Check the battery connections for corrosion and ensure they are tight. Also, verify that the fuel tank is not empty and that the fuel shut-off valve is open.
Regularly inspect the brake pads for wear and replace them if they are below the minimum thickness. Check the brake fluid level and top up if necessary.
The recommended tire pressure for the RSX860i Gator is 12 psi (82.7 kPa) for the front tires and 14 psi (96.5 kPa) for the rear tires.
To adjust the drive belt tension, loosen the mounting bolts on the alternator and adjust it until the belt has about 1/2 inch of deflection at the midpoint. Tighten the bolts securely.
Stop the vehicle immediately and allow the engine to cool. Check the coolant level in the reservoir and add coolant if necessary. Inspect the radiator for obstructions or damage.
To improve fuel efficiency, maintain proper tire pressure, perform regular engine maintenance, and avoid carrying unnecessary weight. Drive at moderate speeds and avoid excessive idling.
Use a high-quality ethylene glycol-based coolant with corrosion inhibitors that is safe for aluminum engines. Mix with distilled water according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
Locate the air filter housing, remove the cover, and take out the old air filter. Insert a new air filter, ensuring it is seated properly, and replace the cover securely.
