Ensure that the parking brake is engaged, the transmission is in neutral, and the throttle is set to idle. Turn the ignition key to the "Start" position until the engine starts, then release it to the "Run" position.
Use only clean, high-quality diesel fuel that meets ASTM D975 standards. Avoid using biodiesel blends over B20.
Check the battery for charge, ensure fuel is present and fresh, verify that the fuel shut-off valve is open, and inspect the air filter for blockages.
Change the engine oil and filter every 100 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first.
Use SAE 10W-30 oil that meets API service classification CC or higher. John Deere Plus-50 II engine oil is recommended for optimal performance.
Check the transmission fluid level regularly and replace it every 400 hours of operation. Use the recommended John Deere Low Viscosity HY-GARD transmission oil.
Check the coolant level in the radiator and reservoir. Inspect the radiator and air intake for debris. Ensure the fan belt is not worn or broken.
Locate the air filter housing, remove the cover, and take out the old air filter. Insert a new air filter and secure the cover. Check for any obstructions in the air intake system.
Inspect tires for correct pressure and wear, check all fluid levels (engine oil, coolant, brake, and transmission), and ensure all lights and signals are functioning.
Maintain proper tire pressure, perform regular engine maintenance, use the recommended grade of diesel fuel, and avoid excessive idling.
