To start the John Deere E-Cut Hybrid 2550 Mower, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the operator is seated, and the PTO is disengaged. Turn the ignition key to start the engine.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height-of-cut adjustment lever on each cutting unit and set it to the desired position according to the cutting height chart provided in the manual.
Check the battery connections for corrosion or looseness. Test the battery voltage using a multimeter. If the voltage is low, charge the battery fully or replace it if necessary.
Routine maintenance includes checking oil levels, inspecting belts and hoses, cleaning the air filter, inspecting blades for sharpness, and checking tire pressure regularly.
To replace the blades, safely lift the mower, remove the blade bolts, and detach the old blades. Install new blades, ensuring they are properly aligned and securely fastened.
Check if the transmission is engaged and the parking brake is released. Inspect for any hydraulic fluid leaks or blockages in the transmission system.
Inspect hydraulic fluid levels and top off if needed. Check hoses and connections for leaks or damage. Operate the mower to ensure smooth movement of hydraulic components.
Uneven cutting can be caused by dull blades, incorrect cutting height settings, uneven tire pressure, or improperly adjusted reel-to-bedknife contact.
To check the oil, remove the dipstick, clean it, and reinsert to measure the level. To change, drain the old oil, replace the filter, and refill with new oil as specified in the manual.
Clean the mower thoroughly, perform all necessary maintenance checks, drain fuel if storing for extended periods, and store it in a dry, covered location.
