To start the John Deere 25S Trimmer, ensure it's on a flat surface. Set the choke lever to the 'start' position, pump the primer bulb several times until fuel is visible, and then pull the starter rope briskly until the engine fires. Move the choke lever to the 'run' position after starting.
The John Deere 25S Trimmer operates on a mixture of unleaded gasoline and 2-cycle engine oil at a 50:1 ratio. Ensure the gasoline is fresh and has an octane rating of 89 or higher.
To replace the trimmer line, turn off the engine and disconnect the spark plug. Remove the spool cap, take out any remaining line, and cut a new line about 20 feet long. Insert the line into the hole in the spool and wind it evenly, leaving about 6 inches unwound. Replace the spool and cap.
If the trimmer won't start, check the fuel level, spark plug condition, and ensure the air filter is clean. Make sure the choke is in the correct position and the primer bulb is working. If the issue persists, consult the user manual or contact a service center.
The air filter should be checked before each use. Clean it if it's dirty and replace it every 25 hours of operation or as needed to ensure optimal performance.
If the trimmer line keeps breaking, it may be due to old or brittle line, cutting against hard surfaces, or using the wrong diameter line. Ensure you're using fresh line of the correct size and avoid contact with hard objects.
To adjust the carburetor, locate the adjustment screws on the side. Turn the idle screw clockwise to increase idle speed or counterclockwise to decrease it. Fine-tune the high-speed and low-speed screws for optimal performance, referring to the user manual for specifics.
Regularly inspect the cutting head for damage or wear. Clean it after each use to prevent debris build-up and replace any worn or damaged parts promptly to ensure efficient operation.
To store the trimmer for winter, drain the fuel tank, clean the exterior, check for any damage, and lubricate moving parts. Store it in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight or moisture.
Always wear protective eyewear, gloves, and sturdy footwear when using the trimmer. Keep bystanders and pets away from the work area, and never operate the trimmer in wet conditions or when fatigued.
