To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever on the windrower. Move the lever to the desired position, ensuring that both sides are set equally to maintain an even cut.
First, ensure the windrower is on a level surface and turned off. Locate the hydraulic fluid reservoir and remove the dipstick. Wipe it clean, reinsert it, and then check the fluid level to ensure it is within the recommended range.
Check the battery connections for corrosion or looseness. Ensure there is sufficient fuel and that the fuel shutoff valve is open. Inspect the ignition switch and starter relay for faults.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing engine oil, inspecting belts and chains for wear, lubricating moving parts, and ensuring all safety guards are intact and functional.
Turn off the engine and disconnect the spark plug. Raise the windrower to access the blades. Use a wrench to remove the blade bolt and replace the damaged blade with a new one, ensuring it is securely fastened.
Check for unbalanced or damaged blades, and inspect the drive belts for wear or misalignment. Ensure that all bolts and fasteners are tight and that the tires are properly inflated.
The air filter should be inspected before each use and replaced every 100 operating hours or more frequently in dusty conditions to ensure optimal engine performance.
Signs of transmission issues include slipping gears, unusual noises such as grinding, difficulty in shifting, and reduced power or speed.
Regular maintenance, such as keeping the air filter clean, ensuring proper tire inflation, and using the recommended engine oil, can help improve fuel efficiency.
Always read the operator's manual before use. Wear appropriate safety gear, ensure all safety guards are in place, and be aware of your surroundings to prevent accidents.
