John Deere 1355, 1365, and 1465 v2 Operator's Manual

For optimal performance, it is recommended to perform routine maintenance every 50 hours of operation. This includes checking oil levels, cleaning or replacing air filters, and inspecting belts and blades for wear.
Start by checking the battery connections and ensuring they are clean and tight. Next, inspect the fuel system for clogs or leaks. Finally, check the spark plug for wear or damage and replace it if necessary.
John Deere recommends using 10W-30 engine oil for most climates. In extremely cold or hot conditions, refer to the user manual for the appropriate oil viscosity.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the cutting height adjustment lever on the mower deck and move it to the desired position. Make sure both sides are set equally for an even cut.
Excessive vibration can be caused by an unbalanced blade or loose components. Check the mower blades for damage or imbalance and tighten any loose bolts or screws on the deck.
The air filter should be inspected every 25 hours of operation and replaced if it appears dirty or clogged. At a minimum, replace the air filter every 100 hours.
Uneven cutting can result from a misaligned mower deck or dull blades. Ensure the deck is level and the blades are sharp and properly installed.
To change the blade, ensure the mower is off and safely elevated. Use a wrench to remove the blade bolt, replace the blade, and tighten the bolt securely. Refer to the manual for specific torque requirements.
To winterize, drain the fuel system, change the oil, remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place, and clean the mower thoroughly. Store the mower in a dry area to prevent rust.
To improve fuel efficiency, maintain clean air filters, keep blades sharp, and ensure tires are properly inflated. Regular maintenance and avoiding excessive idling can also help.
