To adjust the cutter bar, first ensure the windrower is on a level surface. Loosen the adjustment bolts on the cutter bar assembly, adjust the bar to the desired angle, and then tighten the bolts securely. Refer to the user manual for specific torque settings.
Perform daily inspections to check for wear and damage. Lubricate all grease fittings every 50 hours of operation. Check and tighten all bolts and nuts weekly. Replace the hydraulic oil and filters every 200 hours. Refer to the maintenance section of the manual for more details.
Start by checking the hydraulic fluid levels and look for any leaks in the system. Inspect hydraulic hoses and fittings for damage. Also, ensure that the hydraulic pump is functioning properly. If problems persist, consult a John Deere service technician.
Check the condition and sharpness of the blades. Ensure the cutter bar is level and properly adjusted. Inspect drive belts for wear and proper tension. Uneven cutting can also be caused by improper ground speed or crop conditions.
First, ensure the machine is turned off and the engine is cool. Remove the belt guards and loosen the tensioner pulley. Remove the old belt and replace it with a new one, ensuring it is seated properly in the pulley grooves. Adjust the tensioner to apply the correct tension before replacing the guards.
Use John Deere Plus-50 II engine oil or an equivalent that meets the API CJ-4 specification. The viscosity grade should be selected based on the ambient temperature range in which the windrower will operate.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced or damaged cutter blades, loose components, or worn bearings. Check for and replace any damaged parts, and ensure all bolts and nuts are tightened to the correct specifications.
Clean the windrower thoroughly and lubricate all moving parts. Drain the fuel system or add a fuel stabilizer. Store the machine in a dry, sheltered location. Disconnect the battery and store it separately in a cool, dry place.
Check the battery charge and connections. Ensure the fuel tank is filled and the fuel lines are unobstructed. Inspect the ignition system for faults. If the issue persists, consult the operator's manual or contact a service technician.
Inspect the air filter every 100 hours of operation and replace it as needed. In dusty conditions, more frequent inspections and replacements may be necessary to ensure optimal engine performance.
