Ensure the parking brake is set, the blade engagement lever is disengaged, and the throttle is in the fast position. Then, turn the ignition key to start the engine.
Locate the deck lift lever on the right side of the mower. Move the lever to the desired cutting height position between 1.5 and 4 inches.
Check the battery connections for corrosion or looseness, ensure the parking brake is engaged, and verify that the blade engagement lever is disengaged.
The air filter should be checked and cleaned every 25 hours of operation and replaced every 100 hours or annually, whichever comes first.
Uneven cutting may be caused by uneven tire pressure, a misadjusted mower deck, or dull blades. Ensure tire pressure is balanced and the deck is level. Sharpen or replace blades if necessary.
Excessive vibration can result from improperly balanced blades, debris stuck in the pulleys, or damaged belts. Inspect and balance blades, clean pulleys, and check belt condition.
Clean the mower thoroughly, change the engine oil, remove the battery and store it indoors, and add a fuel stabilizer to the fuel tank. Store the mower in a dry, sheltered area.
SAE 30 oil is recommended for temperatures above 32°F, while SAE 5W-30 is suitable for colder conditions. Always check the engine oil level before each use.
Regularly maintain the engine, keep the air filter clean, use the recommended fuel type, and ensure the blades are sharp to reduce engine load and improve efficiency.
Inspect the belt for wear or damage. Replace if necessary. Check belt tension and pulleys for alignment issues. Refer to the user manual for belt replacement instructions.
