Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline that contains more than 10% ethanol.
To change the oil, first run the engine for a few minutes to warm it up. Turn off the engine and remove the key. Position an oil pan under the mower's drain plug, remove the plug, and allow the oil to drain. Replace the plug and refill with the recommended oil type and quantity.
Check if the battery is charged and the connections are clean. Ensure the fuel tank is filled with fresh gasoline, and the spark plug is clean and properly connected. If the problem persists, consider checking the air filter or contacting a professional for further diagnosis.
It's recommended to sharpen the mower blades at least once per mowing season or more frequently if you notice uneven cutting or torn grass blades.
Remove the air filter cover and take out the filter. If it's a foam filter, wash it with warm soapy water, rinse, and let it dry completely before reinstalling. If it's a paper filter, tap it gently to remove dirt or replace it if it's excessively dirty.
The recommended tire pressure for the Husqvarna YT42DXLS is generally around 15 PSI for the front tires and 10 PSI for the rear tires. Always refer to the owner's manual for precise specifications.
Ensure the blades are sharp and properly balanced. Adjust the cutting height for the grass type and conditions. Mow when the grass is dry and avoid cutting more than one-third of the grass height at a time.
Clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, drain the fuel or add a fuel stabilizer, remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place, and cover the mower to protect it from dust and moisture.
Use the cutting height adjustment lever located near the seat. Move the lever to the desired position, ensuring both sides are set to the same height for an even cut.
Check for debris or objects lodged in the blades. Ensure the blades are balanced and that all mounting hardware is secure. If the problem continues, inspect the belts and pulleys for wear or damage.
