To start the Husqvarna R318 lawn mower, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the PTO switch is off, and the throttle lever is in the choke position. Turn the ignition key to start the engine.
If the engine does not start, check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, and verify that the battery is charged. Also, make sure the air filter is clean.
Change the engine oil after the first 5 hours of operation and then every 50 hours or once per mowing season, whichever comes first.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using fuel with more than 10% ethanol content.
To clean the cutting deck, make sure the mower is off and the spark plug is disconnected. Use a garden hose to wash away grass clippings and debris. Avoid using high-pressure washers.
Uneven cutting may be caused by dull blades, incorrect tire pressure, or an improperly leveled deck. Check and address these areas to improve cutting performance.
Ensure the mower is off and the spark plug is disconnected. Use a wrench to remove the blade bolt, replace the blade, and tighten the bolt securely. Ensure the blades are balanced before reinstallation.
Before storing the mower for winter, clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, empty the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, and charge the battery. Store in a dry, sheltered area.
If the battery is not holding a charge, check the connections for corrosion and ensure they are tight. Test the battery's voltage and replace it if it cannot maintain a charge.
Always wear appropriate protective gear, avoid mowing in reverse unless necessary, and be cautious on slopes. Keep children and pets away from the mowing area.
