Ensure the mower is on a flat surface. Engage the parking brake, set the throttle to the 'fast' position, and turn the ignition key to start the engine.
Check the blade engagement lever and ensure it's properly engaged. Inspect the drive belt for any damage or misalignment and replace if necessary.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 50 hours or once per mowing season. Always use SAE 30 oil for optimal performance.
Check the fuel level and make sure the fuel shutoff valve is open. Inspect the spark plug for wear and replace if necessary. Ensure the battery is charged.
Turn off the mower and disconnect the spark plug wire. Use a garden hose to rinse off grass clippings and debris. Scrape off any remaining buildup with a plastic scraper.
The recommended tire pressure is 14 psi for the front tires and 10 psi for the rear tires. Regularly check and maintain the correct pressure for optimal performance.
Remove the air filter cover and take out the old filter. Insert the new air filter, ensuring it fits snugly, and replace the cover. Check periodically and replace when dirty.
Check for debris caught in the blades or under the deck. Inspect the blades for damage or imbalance. Tighten any loose bolts and ensure the blades are properly aligned.
Regularly sharpen the blades and ensure they are balanced. Mow at the recommended cutting height and avoid mowing wet grass. Clean the deck to prevent buildup.
Drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer. Change the oil and clean the mower thoroughly. Remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the mower to protect it from dust.
