The Husqvarna H572XP chainsaw requires a fuel mixture of 50:1, which is 2% oil. This means you should mix 5 liters of unleaded gasoline with 0.1 liters of Husqvarna two-stroke oil.
To properly tension the chain, first ensure the chainsaw is off. Loosen the bar nuts slightly, then use the chain tensioner screw to adjust the tension until the chain fits snugly against the underside of the bar but can still be pulled around by hand. Tighten the bar nuts securely after adjustment.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the air filter, checking and sharpening the chain, inspecting the spark plug, and ensuring the guide bar is free from burrs. It is also important to clean the cooling fins and check the chain brake function.
If the chainsaw won't start, check the fuel tank to ensure there is fresh fuel. Inspect the spark plug for wear or fouling, and clean or replace it if necessary. Ensure the air filter is clean and that the choke is used properly during starting.
Use high-quality bar and chain oil to ensure proper lubrication. Husqvarna recommends using their own brand of chain oil, which is specially formulated to reduce wear and increase the lifespan of the chain and bar.
The chain should be sharpened whenever it becomes dull, usually noticeable when the chainsaw produces uneven cuts or requires more effort to cut. Regular sharpening can prevent excessive wear and extend the life of the chain.
Excessive smoke can be caused by using an incorrect fuel mixture or old fuel. Ensure the fuel mix is 50:1 and that the fuel is fresh. Inspect the air filter and clean it if necessary, as a clogged filter can also cause smoke.
To clean the air filter, first remove it from the chainsaw. Use a soft brush to remove loose dirt and debris. If the filter is heavily soiled, wash it in warm soapy water, rinse it thoroughly, and allow it to dry completely before reinstalling.
If the chain brake is not working, first check for debris obstructing the brake band. Clean any obstructions and ensure the brake band is not worn out. If the problem persists, it may require professional repair or replacement.
Husqvarna recommends using unleaded gasoline with a maximum of 10% ethanol. Higher ethanol content can cause engine damage and should be avoided. It's best to use fresh, ethanol-free gasoline when available.
