To start the Husqvarna H560XP chainsaw, ensure the chain brake is engaged. Set the choke lever to the full choke position if the engine is cold. Pull the starter rope until the engine fires. Then, move the choke to the half-choke position and pull the rope again until the engine starts. Finally, release the chain brake.
If your chainsaw won't start, check the fuel level and ensure it's fresh. Inspect the spark plug for damage or wear and replace it if necessary. Ensure the air filter is clean and not clogged. Also, make sure the on/off switch is in the correct position.
Perform daily maintenance checks including cleaning the air filter, checking the chain tension, and inspecting the guide bar. Weekly, clean the cooling fins and inspect the clutch and sprocket. Monthly, examine the fuel filter and replace it if needed.
To tension the chain, loosen the bar nuts slightly. Turn the tensioning screw clockwise to tighten the chain until it fits snugly against the guide bar but can still be pulled around by hand. Tighten the bar nuts to secure the chain.
Use a 50:1 fuel-to-oil ratio with high-quality, unleaded gasoline and a good quality 2-stroke engine oil. Mix thoroughly before filling the chainsaw's fuel tank.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the air filter, and gently tap it to remove loose dirt. If necessary, wash the filter in warm soapy water and allow it to dry completely before reinstalling it.
If the chain is smoking, it may be dull or improperly tensioned. Ensure the chain is sharp, properly tensioned, and adequately lubricated. Also, verify that the oil reservoir is full and the oiler is functioning.
Secure the chainsaw and use a round file to sharpen each cutter. File at a consistent angle, typically 25 to 30 degrees, and ensure all cutters are the same length. Check the depth gauges and file them down if necessary using a flat file.
Always wear protective gear, including gloves, eye protection, and hearing protection. Maintain a firm grip on the saw, stand to the side of the cut, and never operate the chainsaw above shoulder height. Be aware of your surroundings and keep bystanders at a safe distance.
Replace the chain if it has visible damage such as broken or missing teeth, or if it stretches beyond adjustment. A chain that requires frequent sharpening or causes excessive vibration may also need to be replaced.
