To start the Husqvarna H555 Chainsaw, ensure the chain brake is engaged. Set the choke to the cold start position. Pull the starter handle until the engine fires, then push the choke back to the run position before pulling again to start the engine.
Use a mixture of unleaded gasoline and high-quality 2-stroke engine oil, with a ratio of 50:1. Ensure the gasoline has a minimum octane rating of 89.
Clean the air filter after every 5 hours of operation or more frequently in dusty conditions. Remove the filter and clean it with warm soapy water, ensuring it is completely dry before reinstalling.
To tension the chain, loosen the bar nuts slightly, then turn the tensioning screw clockwise until the chain is snug against the bar. Ensure the chain can be pulled around by hand and then retighten the bar nuts.
If the engine won't start, check the fuel level and ensure the spark plug is clean and properly gapped. Also, ensure the choke is set correctly and that the air filter is clean. If issues persist, consult the user manual or a professional technician.
If the chainsaw is not cutting properly, check the sharpness of the chain and ensure it is properly tensioned. Also, inspect the guide bar for damage or wear, and ensure the depth gauges are set correctly.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the air filter, checking and replacing the spark plug annually, inspecting the chain and bar for wear, and ensuring the correct chain tension. Additionally, check the fuel filter and replace it if clogged.
To store the chainsaw, empty the fuel tank in a safe, environmentally friendly manner. Clean the chainsaw thoroughly, remove the chain and bar, and store them separately. Store in a dry place away from direct sunlight.
If the chain keeps coming off, check the tension and adjust it as needed. Inspect the guide bar and chain for wear or damage, and replace if necessary. Ensure the sprocket and bar groove are clean and functioning properly.
To prevent overheating, ensure the air intake is clean and unobstructed. Avoid operating the chainsaw in extremely hot conditions for extended periods. Regularly check and clean the cooling fins and maintain proper lubrication.
