Husqvarna H440E Parts Manual V2

To start the Husqvarna H440E, ensure the chain brake is engaged, set the choke to the start position, press the primer bulb 6 times, pull the starter handle until the engine fires, then push the choke to the run position and pull again until the engine starts.
To tension the chain, first loosen the bar nuts, adjust the tensioning screw until the chain fits snugly against the bar but still moves freely, and then tighten the bar nuts securely.
A chain that frequently comes off may be due to improper tension, worn sprockets, or a damaged bar. Check and adjust the tension, inspect the sprockets for wear, and replace the bar if necessary.
Clean the air filter after every 5 hours of operation or more frequently if operating in dusty conditions. Replace it if it shows signs of wear or damage.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 89, mixed with high-quality 2-stroke engine oil at a ratio of 50:1.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is clean and functional, verify that the air filter is not clogged, and make sure the chain brake is not engaged while starting.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the air filter, sharpening the chain, inspecting the spark plug, checking the chain tension, and ensuring all nuts and bolts are tight.
Use a round file and file holder, ensuring the file matches the chain specifications. File each cutter at a consistent angle, and use a flat file to adjust the depth gauges.
Excessive smoke can result from using old or incorrect fuel, an overly rich fuel mixture, or an obstructed muffler. Check the fuel mixture and inspect the muffler for blockages.
Drain the fuel, clean the chainsaw, remove the chain and bar, and store them separately. Keep the chainsaw in a dry, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight and corrosive substances.
