To start the Husqvarna GTA850-28 Saw, ensure the chain brake is engaged, set the choke to the start position, pull the starter handle until the engine fires, then push the choke in and pull again until the engine runs.
If the chain is not rotating, first check if the chain brake is engaged. If not, inspect the clutch and sprocket for damage or obstructions. Ensure the chain tension is properly adjusted.
To adjust the chain tension, loosen the bar nuts slightly, adjust the tensioning screw until there is no slack on the underside of the bar, and then tighten the bar nuts securely.
Use a high-quality 2-stroke oil mixed with unleaded gasoline at a 50:1 ratio for optimal performance and engine longevity.
Clean the air filter after every 5 hours of use or more frequently in dusty conditions. Replace the filter if it is damaged or excessively dirty.
The recommended bar length for the Husqvarna GTA850-28 Saw is 28 inches, but it can accommodate bars ranging from 20 to 28 inches.
Ensure the fuel tank has fresh fuel, the spark plug is clean and properly gapped, and the air filter is clean. If the issue persists, inspect the ignition coil and carburetor.
After using the saw, clean the air filter, inspect and clean the chain, check chain tension, and ensure the bar and chain oil reservoir is full. Store the saw in a dry place.
To replace the spark plug, remove the spark plug cover, unscrew the old plug with a spark plug wrench, and install a new plug with the correct gap. Tighten securely and replace the cover.
Ensure the oil reservoir is filled with high-quality bar and chain oil before each use. Regularly check the oil flow by running the saw and observing oil dispersal from the tip of the bar.
