To change the oil, first ensure the engine is off and cool. Remove the oil drain plug and drain the old oil into a suitable container. Replace the plug and refill with the recommended oil type and amount as per the user manual.
Check the fuel level and ensure there is fresh gas. Inspect the spark plug for wear or damage and replace if necessary. Verify that the battery is charged and connections are secure.
First, disconnect the spark plug to prevent accidental starts. Remove the blades and use a bench grinder or a sharpening tool to sharpen the cutting edges evenly. Reinstall the blades securely.
The recommended tire pressure is typically around 15 PSI for the rear tires and 14 PSI for the front tires. Consult the user manual for specific recommendations.
Remove the air filter cover and take out the filter. If it's a foam filter, wash it with soap and water, then dry thoroughly. If it's a paper filter, tap it gently to remove debris or replace if heavily soiled.
Check if the blades are dull or damaged and sharpen or replace them as needed. Ensure the tire pressure is even, and inspect the deck level for alignment adjustments.
It is recommended to replace the spark plug every season or after 100 hours of use to ensure optimal performance.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 5W-30 for colder conditions. Always check the user manual for specific recommendations.
Locate the cutting height adjustment lever on the mower deck and move it to the desired position. Ensure both sides of the deck are set at the same height for even cutting.
Clean the mower thoroughly to remove grass and debris. Drain the fuel or add a stabilizer. Change the oil, inspect the spark plug, and store the mower in a dry place. Remove the battery if stored in a cold environment.
