To start the Husqvarna BMP 335 Scarifier, ensure that the fuel tank is filled with the correct fuel mixture. Move the throttle to the start position, engage the choke if the engine is cold, and pull the starter handle until the engine fires. Once started, adjust the choke and throttle as needed.
Check the blades regularly for wear and damage. Sharpen or replace them as needed to ensure efficient operation. Clean the blades after each use to prevent rust and debris buildup.
If the scarifier is not cutting effectively, check the blades for sharpness and damage. Ensure that the height adjustment is set correctly for the surface being scarified. Examine the drive belt for wear and replace if necessary.
To store the scarifier, clean it thoroughly to remove any debris and moisture. Empty the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer. Store in a dry, covered area to protect it from the elements.
The air filter should be checked before each use and cleaned if necessary. Replace the air filter every 25 hours of operation or as needed if it is damaged or excessively dirty.
If the engine won't start, check the fuel supply and ensure that the spark plug is clean and properly gapped. Verify that the fuel is fresh and the air filter is clean. Also, check for any blockages in the fuel line.
To adjust the cutting depth, locate the depth adjustment lever or knob on the scarifier. Move the lever or turn the knob to the desired depth setting, ensuring it is securely locked in place before operation.
It is not recommended to use the scarifier on wet surfaces as it can lead to inefficient operation and potential damage to the machine. Wait until the surface is dry to ensure optimal performance.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as gloves, eye protection, and hearing protection. Ensure the area is clear of debris and bystanders before operation. Familiarize yourself with the safety features and operating instructions of the scarifier.
To replace the drive belt, disconnect the spark plug for safety. Remove the protective cover to access the belt. Note the belt routing, remove the worn belt, and install the new belt following the original routing. Reassemble all components before testing the scarifier.
