Husqvarna BMP 265 Parts Manual

To start the Husqvarna BMP 265 Scarifier, ensure that the fuel valve is open, set the choke to the closed position if the engine is cold, and pull the starter handle briskly. Once the engine starts, gradually open the choke.
If the engine won't start, check the fuel level, make sure the spark plug is clean and properly connected, and ensure that the air filter is not clogged. Also, verify that the choke is in the correct position for starting.
Regular maintenance should be performed after every 25 hours of use or at the start of each season. This includes checking the oil level, cleaning or replacing the air filter, and inspecting blades for wear.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 40°F (4°C) and SAE 10W-30 for temperatures below 40°F (4°C). Check the oil level before each use and change the oil every 25 hours of operation.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever on the side of the scarifier. Move the lever to the desired position to raise or lower the cutting blades. Ensure the machine is off and the blades are not moving when adjusting.
Excessive vibration can be caused by damaged or unbalanced blades. Inspect the blades for wear or damage and replace them if necessary. Also, check for loose parts and ensure all bolts are securely tightened.
To clean the air filter, remove the air filter cover and take out the filter. If it's a foam filter, wash it with mild detergent and water, then let it dry completely before reinstalling. If it's a paper filter, tap it gently to remove dirt or replace it if it's too dirty.
It is not recommended to use the scarifier on wet grass as it can clog the machine and reduce its effectiveness. For best results, use the scarifier on dry grass.
To store the scarifier during the off-season, clean it thoroughly, drain the fuel, and change the oil. Store it in a dry, sheltered place and cover it to protect it from dust and moisture.
Always wear protective eyewear and gloves when operating the scarifier. Ensure the area is clear of debris and other people. Do not operate the machine on steep slopes and always follow the manufacturer's safety instructions.
