To start the Husqvarna 545G Mark II Chainsaw, ensure the chain brake is engaged. Move the choke control to the full choke position and pull the starter handle until the engine fires. Push the choke control back to the half choke position and pull the starter handle again until the engine starts. Once started, reset the choke to the run position.
Regular maintenance should include checking the chain tension and lubrication before each use, cleaning the air filter every 10 hours of operation, inspecting the spark plug every 25 hours, and replacing it if necessary. The fuel filter should be checked every 50 hours and replaced annually.
If the chainsaw won't start, check the fuel mixture and ensure it's fresh and correctly mixed. Inspect the spark plug for fouling or damage and clean or replace it as needed. Ensure the air filter is clean and unobstructed. Verify the on/off switch is in the 'on' position.
Use a high-quality unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 89, mixed with Husqvarna two-stroke engine oil at a ratio of 50:1. Avoid using ethanol blends higher than E10.
To sharpen the chainsaw chain, secure the saw and use a round file of the correct diameter. File each cutter at a consistent angle, ensuring equal sharpness and length. Check the depth gauge height and adjust with a flat file if necessary.
The Husqvarna 545G Mark II is equipped with a chain brake, throttle lockout, and a front hand guard. It also features LowVib technology to reduce vibration and an inertia-activated chain brake for added safety.
To clean the air filter, remove the cover and take out the filter. Wash it with warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and let it dry completely. Reinstall the dry filter and ensure it is seated properly to prevent debris from entering the engine.
If the chain is not cutting properly, first check that it is sharp and properly tensioned. Inspect the guide bar for wear or damage. Make sure the chain is installed correctly, with the cutting edges facing forward on the top of the bar.
To prevent overheating, ensure the air intake is clear of debris and the cooling fins are clean. Use the correct fuel mixture and keep the chain properly lubricated and tensioned. Avoid running the engine at full throttle for extended periods without cutting.
For prolonged storage, clean the chainsaw thoroughly and drain the fuel system. Remove the chain and bar, and apply oil to prevent rust. Store the chainsaw in a dry, cool place, ideally in a protective case, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
