To start the Husqvarna 545 FR Trimmer, first ensure the choke is in the correct position for a cold start. Prime the fuel bulb until it is full, set the choke, and pull the starter cord until the engine fires. Once it starts, gradually move the choke to the open position.
Use a high-quality unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87 (RON+MON)/2. Mix it with Husqvarna's two-stroke engine oil at a ratio of 50:1 for optimal performance and longevity.
The air filter should be checked before each use and cleaned or replaced as needed. Under heavy usage or in dusty conditions, more frequent maintenance may be required to ensure optimal engine performance.
To replace the trimmer line, make sure the trimmer is off and disconnect the spark plug. Remove the trimmer head, take out any remaining line, and insert a new line following the arrows on the spool indicating the winding direction.
Stalling can be caused by a clogged air filter, incorrect fuel mixture, or dirty spark plug. Ensure the air filter is clean, the fuel is mixed correctly, and the spark plug is in good condition.
Check the fuel level and ensure the fuel is fresh. Inspect the spark plug for wear or carbon buildup and replace if necessary. Ensure the choke is set correctly and that the air filter is clean.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the air filter, checking and replacing the spark plug as needed, inspecting the fuel system, cleaning the cutting attachments, and ensuring all bolts and screws are tight.
Adjusting the carburetor should be done carefully. Locate the adjustment screws on the carburetor. Adjust the 'L' screw for low speed and the 'H' screw for high speed, using a tachometer to ensure the engine runs at the correct RPM.
If the trimmer line won't feed, check for tangles or incorrect winding. Ensure the line is wound evenly and the spool is installed correctly. Replace the line if it is worn or broken.
After each use, clean the cutting attachments with a brush and mild detergent. Check for any damage or wear, and sharpen or replace blades as necessary to ensure efficient cutting.
