To start the Husqvarna 525LST, ensure the stop switch is in the "on" position. Prime the carburetor by pressing the primer bulb multiple times until you see fuel. Pull the choke out to the full position, then pull the starter rope until the engine fires. Push the choke in halfway, and pull the starter rope again until the engine starts.
The correct fuel mixture for the Husqvarna 525LST is 50:1. This means you should mix 2.6 ounces of two-stroke oil with one gallon of unleaded gasoline.
To replace the trimmer line, first ensure the trimmer is off and cool. Remove the spool cap by pressing the tabs on the side. Take out the old line and thread the new line through the hole in the center of the spool. Wind the line evenly in the direction of the arrows on the spool. Replace the spool and cap securely.
If the trimmer won't start, check the following: ensure there is fresh fuel in the tank; inspect the spark plug for wear or damage and replace if necessary; check the air filter for clogs and clean or replace it; ensure the fuel lines are not blocked or damaged.
Regular maintenance for the 525LST includes cleaning or replacing the air filter, checking and replacing the spark plug, inspecting the fuel filter, and checking the trimmer head for wear. It's also advisable to clean the cooling fins and muffler area regularly.
To adjust the carburetor, first locate the adjustment screws marked 'L', 'H', and 'T'. The 'L' screw adjusts low speed, 'H' for high speed, and 'T' for idle. Turn the 'L' screw clockwise until it seats lightly, then turn it counterclockwise to the required setting. Adjust 'T' for a smooth idle, and 'H' for optimal high-speed operation. Refer to the manual for specific settings.
Husqvarna recommends using a trimmer line with a diameter of 0.095 inches for optimal performance on the 525LST. Nylon line is ideal for most trimming tasks.
Trimmer line may break if it's old or of poor quality, if you are trimming against hard surfaces, or if the line is wound too tightly on the spool. Ensure you're using the correct line type and consider replacing it if it appears brittle.
To prevent the engine from overheating, regularly clean the air intake and cooling fins. Ensure the air filter is clean and replace it if necessary. Avoid running the trimmer at full throttle for extended periods and ensure proper fuel mixture.
Excessive vibration can be caused by a damaged or unbalanced trimmer head or shaft. Check for any visible damage and replace any faulty parts. Ensure the trimmer line is correctly wound and balanced on the spool. If vibration persists, consult a professional technician.
