To start the Husqvarna 525 RJX Brushcutter, ensure the stop switch is in the 'ON' position. Press the primer bulb 6 times, set the choke to the 'closed' position, and pull the starter handle until the engine fires. Then, move the choke to 'open' and pull again until the engine starts.
Use a mixture of unleaded gasoline and quality two-stroke oil. The recommended mixing ratio is 50:1. Ensure the gasoline has an octane rating of at least 89.
Clean the air filter every 25 hours of operation or more frequently if used in dusty conditions. Remove the filter, wash it with warm soapy water, rinse, and allow it to dry completely before reinstalling.
Excessive vibration may indicate loose parts, imbalance in the cutting attachment, or a damaged blade. Check for loose screws, ensure the blade is properly balanced, and inspect for any damage. Tighten or replace parts as necessary.
To replace the trimmer line, remove the trimmer head cover, take out the spool, and remove any old line. Cut a new line approximately 15 feet long, wind it evenly onto the spool, and reassemble the trimmer head.
Perform regular maintenance checks before each use. This includes inspecting the cutting attachment, checking for fuel leaks, and ensuring all nuts and bolts are tight. Replace the spark plug and air filter annually or after 100 hours of use, whichever comes first.
To adjust the carburetor, locate the idle speed screw and the 'L' and 'H' screws on the carburetor. Use a screwdriver to adjust the idle speed screw to achieve a smooth idle. Adjust the 'L' screw for low-speed performance and the 'H' screw for high-speed performance, listening for engine smoothness.
If the brushcutter does not start, check the fuel level and quality, inspect the spark plug for fouling, and ensure the air filter is clean. Verify that the stop switch is in the 'ON' position and that the starter cord is not damaged.
For off-season storage, empty the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops. Clean the brushcutter thoroughly, including the air filter and cutting attachments. Store in a dry place, away from direct sunlight or moisture.
Always wear protective gear, including gloves, goggles, and ear protection. Inspect the area for hazards before starting. Maintain a firm grip on the brushcutter and be aware of your surroundings to avoid injury or damage.
