To start the Husqvarna 525 LK Trimmer, ensure the stop switch is in the 'start' position, press the primer bulb 6 times until fuel is visible, pull the choke lever out, and then pull the starter cord gently until you feel resistance. Then pull quickly and firmly. Once the engine starts, push the choke in to the 'run' position.
The Husqvarna 525 LK Trimmer requires a fuel mixture of 50:1, which means 2.6 ounces of two-stroke oil should be mixed with 1 gallon of unleaded gasoline. Make sure to use high-quality oil and fuel to ensure optimal performance.
The air filter should be checked and cleaned after every 25 hours of operation, or more frequently if used in dusty conditions. Replace the filter if it is damaged or heavily soiled.
If the trimmer line keeps breaking, ensure you are using the correct line diameter and type for your model. Avoid hitting hard surfaces and ensure the line is properly wound on the spool. Check for any burrs on the line exit holes that might cause the line to break.
If your trimmer won't start, check the stop switch and ensure it is in the 'start' position. Verify that the fuel mixture is correct and fresh. Inspect the spark plug for fouling or damage, and replace if necessary. Also, ensure that air and fuel filters are clean and not clogged.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the air filter, checking and replacing the spark plug annually, inspecting fuel lines for leaks, lubricating the drive shaft, and checking the trimmer head for wear. Ensure all screws and nuts are tight and inspect the starter cord for wear.
To replace the trimmer line, remove the spool cover by pressing the tabs on the side. Take out the spool and remove any remaining line. Cut two lengths of line, and wind them evenly in the direction indicated on the spool. Secure the lines in the notches and reassemble the head.
Excessive vibration can be caused by an unbalanced or damaged trimmer head. Check for any debris caught in the head or damage to the cutting attachment. Ensure the trimmer head is properly attached and balanced. Replace any damaged parts if necessary.
If the engine is running rough or stalling, check the fuel for contamination and ensure the fuel mixture is correct. Clean or replace the air filter and inspect the spark plug for fouling. Adjust the carburetor settings if needed, following the user manual instructions.
To store the trimmer for winter, empty the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops to clear the carburetor. Clean the entire unit, especially the air filter and cooling fins. Remove the spark plug and add a few drops of oil into the cylinder, then pull the starter rope to distribute the oil. Store in a dry, cool place.
