To start the Husqvarna 445e Triobrake Chainsaw, first ensure the chain brake is engaged. Move the choke/stop control to the choke position. Pull the starter handle until the engine fires. Push the choke control to the run position and pull again until the engine starts.
If the chain is not rotating, check if the chain brake is engaged. Disengage the chain brake by pulling the front hand guard back towards the front handle. Also, ensure the chain tension is correctly adjusted and not too tight.
To adjust the chain tension, loosen the bar nuts slightly. Turn the chain tensioning screw clockwise to tighten the chain, or counterclockwise to loosen it. Ensure the chain is snug against the bar but can still be pulled around by hand. Tighten the bar nuts once adjusted.
Use a fuel mixture of 50:1, which is 2% oil. Mix 2.6 oz of Husqvarna two-stroke oil with 1 gallon of unleaded gasoline. Ensure the fuel is well mixed before use.
The air filter should be checked and cleaned after every 5 hours of operation. If operating in dusty conditions, clean it more frequently to ensure optimal performance.
If the chainsaw won't start, check the fuel level and ensure it's fresh. Verify the spark plug is not fouled or damaged. Confirm the air filter is clean, and the choke is used correctly when starting.
Regularly check the chain brake band for wear and replace if necessary. Ensure the chain brake engages and disengages smoothly. Clean any debris around the chain brake mechanism to ensure proper function.
If the chainsaw is overheating, ensure the air intake and cooling fins are clean and not blocked. Verify the fuel mixture is correct and the spark plug is in good condition. Allow the saw to cool down if it becomes too hot.
When storing the chainsaw, ensure it's clean and dry. Release the chain tension and store it in a cool, dry place. It's advisable to empty the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops to prevent fuel residue buildup.
To sharpen the chain, use a round file and a file guide. Hold the file at a 25-30 degree angle to the chain. File each cutter evenly, using the same number of strokes for each. Ensure the depth gauges are filed to the correct height.
