To start the Husqvarna 435e II Chainsaw, first engage the chain brake. Set the combination switch to choke position. Pull the starter handle until the engine fires, then push the choke control back to the run position and continue pulling until the engine starts.
Use a mixture of unleaded gasoline and high-quality 2-stroke engine oil. The recommended ratio is 50:1, which means 2.6 ounces of oil per gallon of gasoline.
Turn off the chainsaw and ensure the chain brake is engaged. Loosen the bar nuts, then use the tensioning screw to adjust the chain tension. The chain should be tight but still move freely when pulled by hand. Tighten the bar nuts once the tension is correct.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the air filter, checking and sharpening the chain, inspecting the chain tension, cleaning the saw body, and checking the fuel filter and spark plug.
Check the fuel level and ensure it is fresh and properly mixed. Inspect the spark plug for fouling or damage, clean or replace it if necessary. Ensure the air filter is clean and the chain brake is not engaged.
Secure the chainsaw and use a round file to sharpen each cutter. File at a consistent angle and equal stroke count for each cutter. Use a depth gauge tool to maintain the correct depth gauge setting.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, and clean it using warm soapy water or compressed air. Ensure it is completely dry before reinstalling. Replace the filter if it is damaged or excessively dirty.
Chain overheating can be caused by improper tension, insufficient lubrication, or a dull chain. Check the chain tension, ensure the bar and chain oil reservoir is full, and sharpen the chain if necessary.
Ensure that the chain is properly tensioned and sharpened. Inspect the anti-vibration mounts for damage or wear, and replace them if necessary. Use proper cutting techniques to minimize vibration.
Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including gloves, eye and ear protection, and chainsaw chaps. Ensure the area is clear of obstructions and bystanders, and maintain a firm grip on the saw while operating.
