The ideal fuel mixture for the Husqvarna 355FX Brushcutter is a ratio of 50:1, which means 2.6 ounces of two-stroke oil per gallon of unleaded gasoline.
To replace the trimmer line, first turn off the brushcutter and disconnect the spark plug. Remove the trimmer head cover, take out any remaining line, and insert a new line through the eyelets. Wind the line evenly and reattach the cover.
If the brushcutter won't start, check the fuel level and quality, inspect the spark plug for damage or wear, and ensure the air filter is clean. Additionally, verify that the stop switch is in the 'on' position.
The air filter should be checked and cleaned after every 5 hours of use. If used in dusty conditions, it should be cleaned more frequently. Replace the air filter if it's damaged or heavily soiled.
To sharpen the cutting blade, first remove the blade from the brushcutter. Use a flat file to sharpen each edge evenly, following the original bevel angle. Balance the blade after sharpening to ensure smooth operation.
Ensure that the cutting attachment is properly balanced and that all mounting hardware is secure. Using anti-vibration gloves and maintaining a relaxed grip on the handles can also help reduce vibrations.
After each use, clean the cutting attachment and debris shield, inspect the machine for any loose parts, and check the fuel level. Store the brushcutter in a dry, clean place.
For off-season storage, clean the brushcutter thoroughly, empty the fuel tank, and run the engine until it stops to clear the carburetor. Remove the spark plug and add a few drops of oil into the cylinder, then pull the starter rope to distribute the oil.
If cutting performance decreases, inspect the cutting attachment for dullness or damage, ensure the trimmer line is of adequate length and diameter, and check for any obstructions or debris on the cutting head.
To adjust the carburetor, locate the adjustment screws (L, H, T). Turn the 'L' screw to adjust idle speed, the 'H' screw for high-speed RPM, and the 'T' screw to set the idle. Fine-tuning should be done while the engine is running, following the manual for specific settings.
