Ensure the choke is engaged, the primer bulb is pressed several times until fuel is visible, and the trimmer is on a flat surface. Pull the starter rope until the engine fires. Then, disengage the choke and pull again to start.
Turn off the trimmer and disconnect the spark plug. Remove the trimmer head by following the manufacturer's instructions. Insert the new trimmer line into the designated slots, following the directional arrows, and reattach the head.
Check the fuel level and quality, inspect the spark plug for damage or fouling, ensure the air filter is clean, and verify that the choke and primer bulb are functioning.
Clean the air filter every 25 hours of use, or more frequently in dusty conditions. Replace it if it shows signs of damage or excessive dirt that cannot be cleaned.
Use a 50:1 ratio of unleaded gasoline to two-stroke engine oil. Mix thoroughly before filling the trimmer's tank.
Check for contact with hard surfaces, ensure the correct line diameter is used, and inspect the trimmer head for damage that might be cutting the line prematurely.
Inspect the trimmer head for damage or imbalance, ensure the shaft is straight, and check that all bolts and fasteners are tight. Replace any damaged components.
Regularly check the gearbox for leaks and fill with the recommended grease. Inspect gears for wear and replace if necessary.
Locate the idle speed screw on the carburetor and turn it clockwise to increase idle speed or counterclockwise to decrease it. Adjust until the engine runs smoothly without engaging the cutting head.
Always wear protective gear including gloves, eye and ear protection, and sturdy footwear. Keep bystanders at a safe distance and be aware of your surroundings to avoid hazards.
