To start the Husqvarna 122LK Trimmer, first ensure the stop switch is in the 'I' position. Press the primer bulb 10 times until it is completely filled with fuel. Set the choke control to the choke position. Pull the starter handle until the engine fires, then push the choke control back to the run position and pull the starter handle again until the engine starts.
The Husqvarna 122LK Trimmer requires a fuel mixture of 50:1, which means 50 parts unleaded gasoline to 1 part two-stroke oil. Use high-quality unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 89 and a high-quality two-stroke oil.
If the Husqvarna 122LK Trimmer won't start, check the fuel level and ensure the fuel mixture is correct. Inspect the spark plug for damage or fouling and replace it if necessary. Ensure the air filter is clean and not clogged. Finally, check that the stop switch is in the correct position.
To replace the trimmer line, first ensure the engine is off and the spark plug wire is disconnected. Remove the trimmer head cover by pressing the release tabs. Take out the spool and remove any remaining line. Feed new line into the spool, following the directional arrows, and reassemble the trimmer head.
If the trimmer line keeps breaking, it may be due to contact with hard surfaces or using incorrect line diameter. Ensure you're using the recommended line size of 2.4 mm (0.095 inches) and avoid hitting hard objects like rocks or concrete.
To clean the air filter, remove the air filter cover by loosening the screw. Take out the filter and wash it with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and allow it to dry completely. Once dry, lightly oil the filter before reinstalling it and securing the cover.
Regular maintenance includes checking and cleaning the air filter, inspecting the spark plug and replacing it annually, cleaning the cooling fins, and lubricating the flexible drive shaft. Also, regularly check the trimmer head and replace the line as needed.
The spark plug should be inspected regularly and replaced annually or after every 100 hours of operation, whichever comes first. Use a NGK BPMR7A spark plug or equivalent and ensure it is properly gapped to 0.5 mm (0.020 inches).
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced or damaged cutting attachments. Check the trimmer head and blades for any signs of damage or wear. Ensure that all components are securely fastened. Also, inspect the flexible drive shaft for damage.
For off-season storage, clean the trimmer thoroughly and remove any debris. Drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops to clear the fuel system. Remove the spark plug and add a few drops of oil into the cylinder, then pull the starter handle to distribute the oil. Store in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight.
