To start the Husqvarna 122LDx Trimmer, ensure the stop switch is in the "ON" position. Prime the engine by pressing the primer bulb until fuel is visible. Set the choke lever to the choke position, then pull the starter handle until the engine fires. Move the choke to the half position and pull the starter handle again until the engine starts. Finally, move the choke to the "RUN" position.
The recommended fuel mixture for the Husqvarna 122LDx Trimmer is a 50:1 ratio of unleaded gasoline to high-quality 2-stroke oil. Ensure the gasoline has a minimum octane rating of 89 and contains no more than 10% ethanol.
To replace the trimmer line, first ensure the trimmer is off and cool. Remove the trimmer head cap by pressing the tabs on the side. Take out any remaining old line. Cut two lengths of new line, approximately 10 feet each. Insert each line into the holes on the spool, winding them evenly and in the direction indicated on the spool. Reassemble the trimmer head.
If the Husqvarna 122LDx won't start, check the fuel level and ensure the fuel mixture is correct. Verify that the spark plug is clean and properly gapped. Inspect the air filter for clogs and clean or replace it if necessary. Ensure the primer bulb and choke are used correctly during starting. If the problem persists, contact a professional technician.
The air filter on the Husqvarna 122LDx should be cleaned every 25 hours of operation or more frequently if used in dusty conditions. Remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, and wash it with warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry it thoroughly before reinstallation.
To adjust the carburetor, locate the adjustment screws on the side of the carburetor. The "L" screw controls low-speed fuel mixture, and the "H" screw controls high-speed fuel mixture. Adjust these screws using a small screwdriver. It’s recommended to make small adjustments and test the trimmer’s performance. If unsure, consult the user manual or a professional.
Before storing the Husqvarna 122LDx for the winter, drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops to clear the carburetor. Clean the trimmer thoroughly and inspect for any damage. Store it in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight. It’s advisable to cover it to protect from dust and debris.
To change the spark plug, first ensure the trimmer is off and cool. Remove the spark plug boot and use a spark plug wrench to unscrew the old plug. Check the gap on the new spark plug (recommended gap is 0.024-0.028 inches) and install it by hand to avoid cross-threading. Tighten it with the wrench and reattach the spark plug boot.
To reduce vibration, ensure the trimmer head is balanced and free from damage. Check that all bolts and screws are tightened. Inspect the drive shaft and clutch for wear and replace if necessary. Using anti-vibration gloves can also help minimize the effects of vibration during operation.
Regular maintenance for the Husqvarna 122LDx includes checking and replacing the trimmer line, cleaning or replacing the air filter, inspecting and cleaning the spark plug, checking the fuel system for leaks or blockages, and ensuring that all screws and nuts are properly tightened. It is also important to clean the unit after each use to prevent buildup of debris.
