To start the Husqvarna 11524E Snow Thrower, ensure the throttle is set to 'fast', the choke is in the 'on' position, and the fuel shut-off valve is open. Pull the starter handle or use the electric start button if available.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using ethanol blends higher than 10% as they may cause engine damage.
Regularly inspect the auger for wear and damage. Lubricate the auger shaft and check shear pins to ensure they are intact. Replace any damaged or worn parts immediately.
To change the oil, run the engine for a few minutes to warm it up, then turn it off. Remove the oil drain plug and allow the old oil to drain completely. Replace the plug and refill with the recommended oil type and quantity.
To adjust the skid shoes, loosen the nuts on the skid shoes and set them to the desired height, considering the surface you are clearing. Tighten the nuts securely once adjusted.
Check the chute and auger for any obstructions or build-up of snow and ice. Ensure the throttle is set to the maximum and confirm that the auger drive is engaged. Clean or adjust as necessary.
Inspect the spark plug at the beginning of each season and replace it if it shows signs of wear or damage. Generally, replacing the spark plug once a year ensures optimal performance.
Before storing, clean the snow thrower thoroughly, change the oil, and empty the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer. Store in a dry, covered location and disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starts.
Check that the fuel tank has fresh fuel, the spark plug is clean and connected, and the choke is in the correct position. Inspect the air filter for clogs and ensure the safety key is inserted properly.
If the drive system is not engaging, check the drive belt for signs of wear or damage and replace if necessary. Ensure the drive cable is properly connected and adjusted. Inspect for any obstructions in the drive system.
