Honda XR650L 2020 Operation Guide

It is recommended to change the oil every 2,000 miles or at least once a year to ensure optimal engine performance.
The recommended oil for the Honda XR650L is a high-quality 10W-40 motorcycle oil. Ensure it meets or exceeds JASO MA standards.
Check the battery charge, inspect the spark plug, ensure the fuel valve is open, and verify that the kill switch is in the run position.
For optimal performance, maintain a tire pressure of 22 psi for the front tire and 25 psi for the rear tire.
Loosen the axle nut, adjust the chain adjusters evenly on both sides, and ensure there is about 1.2 inches of slack in the chain before tightening the axle nut.
Stop the motorcycle immediately, let the engine cool down, check the coolant level, and inspect for any obstructions in the radiator or oil cooler.
Regular maintenance such as keeping the air filter clean, ensuring proper tire pressure, and using the recommended grade of fuel can improve fuel efficiency.
At 5,000 miles, check and adjust the valve clearance, inspect the drive chain and sprockets, and replace the air filter if necessary.
Remove the caliper from the disc, slide out the old brake pads, insert new pads, and reattach the caliper ensuring all bolts are tightened to spec.
Clean the motorcycle thoroughly, add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, and store it in a dry place on a stand to prevent tire flat spots. Cover it to protect from dust and debris.
