Regular maintenance should be performed every 4,000 miles or 6 months, whichever comes first. This includes oil changes, checking tire pressure, and inspecting the brake system.
It is recommended to use SAE 10W-30, API Service Classification SG or higher, JASO T 903 standard MA for optimal performance.
First, check the battery for charge and connections. Ensure the kill switch is in the 'Run' position. If the problem persists, inspect the starter motor and relay for faults.
The recommended tire pressure is 29 psi for the front tire and 36 psi for the rear tire. Always check the tire pressure when the tires are cold.
To adjust the chain tension, loosen the rear axle nut and turn the adjusters on both sides evenly until the chain slack is within the specified range of 1.0 to 1.6 inches.
Check the headlight bulb for any signs of damage or burnout and replace if necessary. Also, inspect the fuse and wiring connections for any issues.
Ensure regular maintenance is performed, keep the tires properly inflated, and use smooth throttle inputs. Avoid excessive idling and maintain a consistent speed.
Regularly check the battery terminals for corrosion and ensure they are tight. Keep the battery fully charged, especially during long storage periods, using a trickle charger if necessary.
Wash and dry your motorcycle regularly, apply a quality wax to painted surfaces, and use a rust inhibitor on metal components. Store the bike in a dry, covered area.
Immediately turn off the engine and allow it to cool. Check the coolant level and inspect the radiator for blockages or leaks. Address any issues before restarting the engine.
