The recommended oil type is SAE 10W-30, API service classification SG or higher. The oil capacity is approximately 3.4 quarts (3.2 liters) with a filter change.
The air filter should be checked every 12,000 miles and replaced every 18,000 miles or more frequently if ridden in dusty or harsh conditions.
The recommended tire pressure is 36 psi (250 kPa) for the front tire and 41 psi (280 kPa) for the rear tire.
To adjust the clutch lever, locate the adjuster on the clutch cable near the lever. Turn the adjuster to achieve 10-20 mm of free play at the lever.
Check the battery for charge, ensure the kill switch is set to 'Run', verify that the fuel valve is on, and inspect the spark plugs for wear or damage.
The rear suspension can be adjusted for preload using the spanner tool provided in the tool kit. Turn the adjuster on the shock absorber to increase or decrease preload.
Ensure the engine is cool, then locate the coolant reservoir on the left side of the motorcycle. Check the level and add a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and distilled water if needed.
Regularly clean and lubricate the chain every 600 miles or more often if riding in wet or dusty conditions. Adjust the chain tension to 1-1.5 inches of slack.
Fill the fuel tank and add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, remove the battery and store it in a warm place, and cover the motorcycle with a breathable cover.
Check the battery for charge, inspect fuses for any that may be blown, examine wiring for loose connections, and test the ignition switch and starter relay.
