Routine maintenance should be performed every 100 hours of use or at least once a year, whichever comes first. This includes checking the oil, air filter, brakes, and tires.
It is recommended to use SAE 10W-30 four-stroke motor oil that meets or exceeds the specifications set by the American Petroleum Institute.
First, check the battery for proper charge. Ensure the fuel valve is open and that there is enough fuel. Inspect the spark plug for wear or damage and replace if necessary.
The recommended tire pressure is 3.5 psi for both front and rear tires. Always refer to the owner’s manual for specific details.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the air filter, and wash it in a solution of mild detergent and warm water. Rinse thoroughly and allow it to dry completely before reinstalling.
Stop the engine immediately and allow it to cool down. Check the coolant level and inspect for any leaks. Ensure the radiator is not obstructed by dirt or debris.
Loosen the rear axle nuts, adjust the chain tension using the adjustment bolts until there is about 3/4 inch of slack, then retighten the axle nuts.
Remove the spark plug cap, use a spark plug wrench to unscrew the old plug, gap the new spark plug properly, install it by hand to avoid cross-threading, and then tighten it with the wrench.
Locate the brake fluid reservoir, clean the area around the cap, remove the cap, and check if the fluid level is between the minimum and maximum marks. Refill if necessary.
Clean the ATV thoroughly, change the oil, stabilize the fuel, disconnect the battery, and store it in a dry, covered area. Periodically rotate the tires to prevent flat spots.
