For optimal performance, use Honda GN4 10W-30 or 10W-40 4-stroke motorcycle oil. It's formulated specifically for the performance requirements of your ATV.
It's recommended to change the oil every 600 miles or every six months, whichever comes first. However, frequent use in harsh conditions may require more frequent changes.
The recommended tire pressure is 3.6 psi for both the front and rear tires. Always check the pressure when the tires are cold.
First, check the battery connections and ensure they are clean and secure. Next, inspect the fuses and the starter button for any faults. If these are all in order, test the starter relay and ignition switch.
After riding in muddy conditions, clean the ATV thoroughly, focusing on the undercarriage and suspension components. Inspect the brakes, chains, and sprockets for mud and debris, and lubricate all necessary parts.
The TRX520FM1 features adjustable spring preload on the front and rear shocks. To adjust, use a spanner wrench to increase or decrease the preload according to your weight and terrain preferences.
Overheating can be caused by low coolant levels, a blocked radiator, or a faulty thermostat. Ensure the radiator is clean and coolant levels are adequate. Regularly check the cooling system components for wear.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the air filter, and inspect it for dirt and debris. Clean it with a non-flammable or high-flash-point solvent, let it dry, and then apply air filter oil before reinstalling.
Clean the ATV thoroughly, perform an oil change, fill the gas tank, and add a fuel stabilizer. Disconnect the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Keep the ATV covered and in a dry location.
Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position. Press and hold the trip meter button until the maintenance light begins to flash, then release the button. This will reset the light.
