It is recommended to use Honda GN4 10W-30 or 10W-40 four-stroke motorcycle oil for optimum performance and protection.
The air filter should be checked and cleaned every 100 hours of operation, or more frequently if used in dusty conditions. Replace it if it is damaged or excessively dirty.
The recommended tire pressure for the front tires is 4.4 psi, and for the rear tires, it is 3.6 psi. Maintaining the correct tire pressure ensures optimal handling and performance.
First, check the battery connections to ensure they are clean and tight. Verify the battery's charge level. If the battery is fine, inspect the spark plug and fuel system for any issues.
To store the ATV, clean it thoroughly, change the oil, fill the fuel tank and add a fuel stabilizer, disconnect the battery, and store it in a dry, covered location. Elevate the tires to prevent flat spots.
To adjust valve clearance, remove the seat and tank, then use a feeler gauge to measure the gap between the valve stem and rocker arm. Adjust as necessary using the adjuster screw. Consult the service manual for specific clearance values.
Check the transmission fluid level and quality. If low or dirty, replace the fluid. Inspect the clutch adjustment and cable for any issues, and ensure that the shift linkage is free of obstructions.
Regularly inspect the brake pads for wear and replace them if necessary. Check the brake fluid level and top it off with DOT 4 brake fluid if needed. Ensure that the brake lines are free of leaks and properly bled.
Overheating can be caused by low coolant levels, a clogged radiator, or a faulty thermostat. Ensure the cooling system is filled with the appropriate coolant, clean the radiator fins, and replace the thermostat if necessary.
A basic tune-up includes changing the engine oil and filter, replacing the spark plug, cleaning or replacing the air filter, and checking all fluid levels. Inspect the brakes, tires, and drive chains for wear.
