Honda recommends using a 10W-40 or 10W-30 motorcycle oil that meets the specifications of API service classification SG or higher, and JASO T 903 MA standard.
The air filter should be checked and cleaned after every ride in dusty conditions. Under normal conditions, inspect it every 50 hours or every 600 miles, whichever comes first.
The recommended tire pressure is 4 psi for the front tires and 3.5 psi for the rear tires. Always check the tire pressure before riding.
First, check the battery connections and ensure they are tight and corrosion-free. Verify that the fuel is fresh and the fuel valve is in the ON position. If the ATV still won't start, inspect the spark plug and replace it if necessary.
To adjust the chain tension, first loosen the rear axle nuts. Then, use the chain adjusters to move the axle forward or backward until you achieve the correct tension. The chain should have about 1 inch of slack at its midpoint.
Before storing the ATV, clean it thoroughly and lubricate all moving parts. Drain the fuel system or add a fuel stabilizer to prevent the fuel from degrading. Remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the ATV to protect it from dust and moisture.
To enhance suspension performance, consider adjusting the preload on the front and rear shocks to suit your riding style and weight. You can also upgrade to high-performance aftermarket shocks for better handling.
If the ATV overheats, stop riding immediately and let the engine cool down. Check the coolant level and replenish if necessary. Inspect the radiator for obstructions and clean it if needed. Ensure the fan is working properly.
To replace the spark plug, first remove the ignition coil cap. Use a spark plug wrench to unscrew the old plug. Insert the new spark plug and tighten it to the specified torque, then reattach the ignition coil cap.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, inspecting the air filter, adjusting the chain, checking tire pressure, inspecting brakes, and lubricating all moving parts. Follow the maintenance schedule in the owner's manual for best results.
