To perform regular maintenance, check and change the oil every 100 hours or annually, whichever comes first. Clean or replace the air filter, inspect brakes, and check tire pressure regularly. Lubricate all necessary parts and ensure all bolts are tightened to the recommended torque.
The recommended oil for the TRX250TE is SAE 10W-30, JASO T 903 MA standard. The oil capacity is approximately 2.6 quarts (2.5 liters) after draining.
If the ATV won't start, check the battery charge and connections, inspect the starter relay, and ensure the fuel valve is open. Check the spark plug for fouling and ensure the ignition switch is in the 'ON' position.
If the ATV overheats, stop riding immediately and allow it to cool. Check the coolant level and radiator cap. Clean any debris from the radiator fins. If the problem persists, inspect the cooling fan and thermostat.
To adjust the chain tension, loosen the rear axle nuts, then adjust the chain adjusters evenly on both sides until the chain has 1-1.5 inches of slack. Retighten the axle nuts securely.
The recommended tire pressure for front tires is 2.9 psi (20 kPa) and for rear tires is 2.9 psi (20 kPa) under normal conditions. Adjust the pressure according to the load and terrain if necessary.
To replace the spark plug, remove the spark plug cap, use a spark plug wrench to unscrew the old plug, and inspect it. Install a new spark plug, ensuring it's properly gapped to 0.6-0.7 mm, and tighten it securely. Reattach the spark plug cap.
Common electrical problems include dead battery, faulty starter relay, or blown fuses. Ensure the battery is charged and connections are clean. Replace faulty relays or fuses and inspect wiring for any visible damage.
To improve performance, consider upgrading the air filter, exhaust system, and using high-quality oil. Regularly maintain and clean the ATV, ensure proper tire inflation, and adjust suspension settings for optimal performance.
If the transmission is not shifting properly, check the gear shift linkage for any damage or misalignment. Ensure the clutch is functioning correctly and adjust if necessary. Inspect the transmission oil level and quality, and replace if needed.
