The recommended maintenance schedule involves regular checks every 10 hours of use. Key tasks include inspecting the air filter, checking and adjusting the chain tension, inspecting brake pads, and changing the engine oil every 20 hours.
To adjust the suspension, start with the standard settings and fine-tune according to your riding style. Adjust the front fork preload and rebound damping using the adjusters on the top of the fork tubes. The rear shock can be adjusted by setting the preload and rebound damping at the shock absorber.
If the bike fails to start, check the following: Ensure the fuel valve is on, inspect the spark plug for fouling, verify the kill switch is in the 'run' position, and check for a clogged air filter. If issues persist, inspect the fuel lines and carburetor for blockages.
Remove the air filter and tap it gently to remove loose dirt. Wash it in a solution of warm water and mild detergent, rinse thoroughly, and let it dry completely. Apply air filter oil evenly before reinstalling it.
For rocky terrains, a pressure of 4-6 psi is recommended for better grip. For muddy conditions, use 3-5 psi to improve traction. Adjust according to rider preference and terrain conditions.
To improve fuel efficiency, ensure regular maintenance such as keeping the air filter clean, maintaining correct tire pressure, using high-quality fuel, and avoiding excessive idling. Adjust carburetor settings for optimal air-fuel mixture.
To winterize the bike, clean and lubricate all moving parts, drain the fuel system or add fuel stabilizer, remove the battery and store it in a cool dry place, and cover the bike with a breathable cover to protect it from dust and moisture.
To adjust the chain tension, place the bike on a stand, loosen the axle nut, and adjust the chain adjusters evenly on both sides. Ensure the correct slack is maintained (about 20-30mm) and retighten the axle nut securely.
If the clutch feels stiff, check for correct cable adjustment and lubricate the clutch cable. Inspect the clutch lever for damage and ensure the clutch fluid is at the correct level. Replace the clutch plates if they show signs of wear.
To prevent overheating, ensure the radiator is clean and unobstructed, verify coolant levels are adequate, and check that the fan is functioning correctly. Avoid prolonged idling and ensure proper engine tuning.
