The recommended oil type for the Honda GX100 2014 engine is SAE 10W-30 for general use.
It is recommended to change the oil every 50 hours of operation or at least once a season if used less frequently.
The spark plug gap should be set to 0.6-0.7 mm (0.024-0.028 inches).
To clean the air filter, remove the filter cover, take out the foam element, wash it in warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and allow it to dry before reinstallation.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is clean and properly gapped, verify that the air filter is clean, and ensure the engine switch is in the "on" position.
Ensure that the engine has proper ventilation, the cooling fins are clean and unobstructed, and the oil level is adequate.
Drain the fuel, clean the exterior, change the oil, and remove the spark plug to add a few drops of oil into the cylinder before turning it over a few times to distribute the oil.
To adjust the idle speed, locate the idle adjustment screw on the carburetor and turn it clockwise to increase the idle speed or counterclockwise to decrease it.
Set the choke lever to the closed position, ensure the fuel valve is open, and pull the starter grip gently until you feel resistance, then pull briskly.
The spark plug should be inspected and cleaned every 100 hours of operation and replaced if necessary.
