To adjust the chain tension, first place the motorcycle on a stand. Loosen the axle nut, adjust the chain tension using the adjusters on both sides of the swingarm, ensuring the slack is within the specified range (approximately 35-45mm), then retighten the axle nut.
Use a high-quality 10W-30 motorcycle oil that meets or exceeds the API service classification of SG or higher and is JASO MA certified.
It is recommended to change the oil every 8,000 miles (12,800 km) or at least once a year, whichever comes first.
Check the battery for charge and connections, ensure the fuel is sufficient and fresh, inspect the ignition system, and verify the kill switch is in the correct position. If the problem persists, consult a professional mechanic.
The recommended tire pressure is 29 psi (200 kPa) for the front tire and 36 psi (250 kPa) for the rear tire, when ridden solo.
To replace the air filter, remove the seat, then the air filter cover on the left side of the motorcycle. Take out the old filter and replace it with a new one, ensuring it is seated properly before reattaching the cover and seat.
If the engine overheats, pull over safely, turn off the engine, and allow it to cool. Check the coolant level and for any leaks. If necessary, refill the coolant and have the cooling system checked for issues.
Locate the brake fluid reservoir on the handlebar for the front brake and near the rear brake pedal for the rear brake. Ensure the fluid level is between the minimum and maximum marks. Top up with DOT 4 brake fluid if necessary.
Regular maintenance includes checking and adjusting the chain tension, changing the oil and filter, inspecting brake pads and fluid, checking tire pressure and tread, and inspecting the lights and signals.
To improve fuel efficiency, maintain proper tire pressure, regularly change the oil and air filter, avoid rapid acceleration, and maintain a steady speed when possible.
