To adjust the chain tension, place the bike on a stand, measure the chain slack at a midpoint, and ensure it has a free play of 30-40 mm. Loosen the axle nut, adjust the tension using the adjusters on either side, and re-tighten the axle nut.
Honda recommends using a 10W-30 or 10W-40 motorcycle oil that meets JASO T 903 MA standard for optimal performance.
It is recommended to inspect and, if necessary, replace the spark plugs every 8,000 miles or 12,800 kilometers.
The recommended tire pressure is 36 psi for the front tire and 42 psi for the rear tire when cold.
Check the battery charge and connections, ensure the kill switch is in the correct position, inspect the starter motor and relay, and check for any blown fuses.
Refer to the owner's manual for a detailed schedule, but generally, oil changes are every 4,000 miles, air filter checks every 8,000 miles, and valve clearances every 16,000 miles.
Turn the ignition to the 'on' position, press and hold the trip button until the service light begins to flash, and then release the button to reset it.
Stop the motorcycle safely, turn off the engine, and let it cool down. Check coolant levels, inspect the radiator and hoses for leaks, and ensure the fan is operational.
Remove the caliper bolts, slide the caliper off the disc, remove the old pads, insert new pads, and reattach the caliper. Ensure everything is secure and test the brakes before riding.
Use a high-quality ethylene glycol-based coolant that is specifically formulated for aluminum engines and is silicate-free.
