It's recommended to change the oil every 4,000 miles or at least once a year, whichever comes first. Always use the manufacturer-recommended oil type and grade.
The recommended tire pressure is 36 psi for the front tire and 42 psi for the rear tire. Check your owner's manual to confirm these values.
Check the battery connections to ensure they are tight and free from corrosion. Verify that the kill switch is in the 'run' position and the bike is in neutral. If the problem persists, it might be a battery or starter motor issue.
Use a high-quality ethylene glycol coolant with corrosion inhibitors. It should be silicate-free and specifically designed for aluminum engines.
To adjust the chain tension, loosen the axle nut and adjust the chain adjusters equally on both sides. The chain should have about 1-1.5 inches of slack at the midpoint. Tighten the axle nut after adjustments.
Use DOT 4 brake fluid. Check the fluid level regularly and replace it every two years to maintain optimal braking performance.
Keep the battery terminals clean and ensure they are tightly connected. Charge the battery if the bike is not used for extended periods, and consider using a battery tender to maintain charge.
If the engine overheats, safely pull over and stop the bike. Turn off the engine and allow it to cool. Check the coolant level and for any leaks. Refill or repair as necessary before restarting.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, and inspect it. If it's reusable, clean it with a mild detergent and water, then let it dry completely before reinstalling. Replace if it's a disposable type.
The valve clearance should be checked every 16,000 miles. It's a complex procedure that may require professional assistance if you're not experienced with engine maintenance.
