The recommended oil type is SAE 20W50 for all temperature ranges. It's advised to use Harley-Davidson Genuine Motor Oil for optimal performance.
The engine oil should be changed every 5,000 miles or at least once a year, whichever comes first.
To adjust the clutch, first loosen the cable adjuster locknut and turn the adjuster to provide slack. Remove the clutch inspection cover, adjust the clutch pushrod to achieve slight resistance, then back off 1/2 to 1 turn. Reassemble and adjust cable free play to 1/16 to 1/8 inch.
Check the battery charge and connections, inspect the starter relay and fuses, and ensure the kill switch is in the run position. If the problem persists, inspect the ignition switch and wiring.
The recommended tire pressure is 36 PSI for the front tire and 40 PSI for the rear tire when riding solo. Adjust the rear tire to 40 PSI when carrying a passenger or additional load.
Clean the motorcycle thoroughly, change the oil, fill the fuel tank and add a stabilizer, disconnect the battery, and cover the bike with a breathable cover. Store it in a dry, temperature-controlled environment.
Maintain proper tire pressure, perform regular maintenance, avoid aggressive acceleration, and ensure the air filter is clean. Consider upgrading to a high-flow air cleaner and exhaust system for improved performance.
Check the brake fluid level and inspect for leaks. Bleed the brake system to remove air bubbles. If the problem persists, inspect brake lines, pads, and rotors for wear or damage.
To replace the battery, remove the seat, disconnect the negative cable first, followed by the positive cable. Remove the battery hold-down strap and lift the battery out. Install the new battery by reversing these steps.
Signs include visible cracks, fraying, or abrasions on the belt. Unusual noises or difficulty in transmission operation can also indicate belt wear. Regularly inspect the belt for these signs.
