Use a high-quality SAE 20W50 motorcycle oil. Harley-Davidson recommends using their own brand, but any high-quality, synthetic motorcycle oil meeting the same specifications will suffice.
It is recommended to change the oil every 2,500 to 3,000 miles or at least once a year, depending on your riding habits and conditions.
The recommended tire pressure is 36 psi for the front tire and 40 psi for the rear tire. Always check the tire pressure when the tires are cold.
Check the battery voltage to ensure it is fully charged, inspect the starter relay and connections for corrosion or wear, and verify that the engine kill switch is in the correct position.
Regular maintenance includes oil changes, brake fluid checks, tire pressure checks, belt tension inspection, and regular cleaning and lubrication of all moving parts.
To adjust the rear suspension, use the preload adjustment feature located on the shocks. Turn the adjuster clockwise to increase preload for heavier loads, and counterclockwise to decrease it for lighter loads.
Stop the motorcycle in a safe place, allow the engine to cool down, check coolant levels if applicable, and inspect the oil level. If the issue persists, consult a professional mechanic.
Maintain proper tire pressure, ensure regular engine maintenance, avoid aggressive acceleration and braking, and use high-quality fuel.
Common issues include blown fuses and faulty connections. Inspect wiring harnesses for wear, check all fuses, and ensure all connections are secure and free from corrosion.
First, safely lift the motorcycle and remove the wheel. Then, remove the caliper bolts, slide out the old pads, insert the new pads, and reassemble. Ensure all bolts are tightened to the manufacturer's specifications.
