To start the Gravely Pro-QXT 985911 tractor, ensure the PTO is disengaged and the parking brake is set. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the 'Start' position. Once the engine starts, release the key to the 'Run' position.
Regular maintenance for the Gravely Pro-QXT 985911 includes checking the engine oil level before each use, changing the oil after the first 5 hours of operation and then every 50 hours, inspecting the air filter every 25 hours, and replacing it as needed.
If the tractor won't start, check the battery connections and ensure they are clean and tight. Verify that the PTO is disengaged and the parking brake is set. Also, inspect the spark plug for fouling and replace it if necessary.
Excessive vibration may be caused by unbalanced blades or debris caught in the cutting deck. Check and clean the deck, and inspect the blades for damage or imbalance. Replace or balance the blades if necessary.
For off-season storage, clean the tractor thoroughly, change the oil, and fill the fuel tank with stabilized fuel. Store the tractor in a dry, sheltered area and disconnect the battery to prevent drainage.
The Gravely Pro-QXT 985911 tractor requires SAE 10W-30 engine oil for optimal performance. Ensure the oil meets API service classification SJ or higher.
To change the drive belts, remove the belt covers and release the tension on the belt tensioners. Slide the old belts off the pulleys and install the new belts, ensuring they are properly seated on the pulleys before re-tensioning.
If the cutting is uneven, inspect the blades for sharpness and damage. Ensure the deck is level and adjust if necessary. Also, check for tire inflation discrepancies that might affect cutting height.
Lubricate all pivot points, linkages, and fittings with grease every 25 hours of operation or at the beginning of each season to ensure smooth operation and prevent wear.
To replace the spark plug, first disconnect the spark plug wire. Use a spark plug wrench to remove the old plug. Check the gap of the new spark plug and adjust if necessary. Install the new plug by hand to prevent cross-threading, then tighten with the wrench. Reconnect the spark plug wire.
